Last weekend a part of our team attended the Wordcamp Sofia 2019. We love Wordcamps! And as usual it was great fun and very informative as well. About 400 to 500 WP-enthusiasts gathered at the Tech-Park-Sofia, more precisely in its large John Atanasov auditorium (named after the great computer inventor of Bulgarian origin. Several speakers from Serbia gave the conference an international touch, but of course most contributors were from the local community.
The Wordcamp started on Saturday, 09.11.2019 with the Contributor Day (which we missed). Sunday, 10.11 was the main conference day and packed with interesting presentations about development, speed optimization of WP-sites, business development and marketing.
It is difficult to say who was our favourite, but one of the best and most hands-on presentations was the on given by Web analytics-consultant Stefan Sovrlić from Serbia about the topic: “Improving post click experience using advanced tracking methods“. He had also a very entertaining way of how to speak. His slot was the last one – so the audience was not that filled any more, but for sure it was a very interested one. And it did not stayed dissapointed… Big thank to Stefan!
Also Diana Endreva gave a great presentation after which every one was assured that she really understands a lot about speed optimization of websites – so many aspects here and we really have to digest this and think how to get some take aways for our wordpress development. Because speed is also a crucial SEO-factor nowadays!
The conference ended with a come-together in a small club in the center. Thanks to the sponsors for the free drinks! We are looking forward to the next conferences and already learned about planed Wordcamps for 2020 in Plovdiv (May) and Varna (September) – and of course in Sofia (November).
And visiting a Wordcamp has also a positive side-effect: You are highly motivated after it do dig into WordPress again! See you again!
